Lumina has produced 100% FIRST PREMIUM foals! Lumina is absolutely lovely -- with a typey face, long neck, and substantial conformation. She has a big stride with plenty of impulsion, is fun to ride and is a winner in-hand (see her on our Show Results page). Check out her offspring -- 100% FIRST PREMIUMS!! Her second foal, Dolce Vita, is a gorgeous, Gold Premium scoring filly who was USDF Breeders Series Region IV RESERVE CHAMPION filly, 2006! Lumina also produced Rapunzel, who was a Gold Premium foal at our 1999 inspection. Her 2003 gelding Lumiere by Le Mode scored Gold Premium at his keuring. He's 16.3 hands now at 3, and a delight to ride. Lumina's 2005 foal -- Dante Alligheri, by Der Graf -- was co-champion of his keuring with an impressive Gold Premium score of 8.3! He is big, beautiful, an expressive mover, and bold and outgoing in his nature. He's also been champion or reserve every time out showing in hand, USDF Breeder's Series 2006! In 2006 Lumina produced another outstanding filly, this time by Le Mode -- L'Emmanuelle was champion of her keuring with an impressive 9.2 for type! Lumina's 2007 foal -- Da Vinci, by Der Graf -- was also co-champion of his keuring with an impressive Gold Premium score of 8.3! Watch for Lumina's 2008 foal by Der Graf -- full sibling to Dolce Vita, Da Vinci and Dante Alligheri!

Jewel 2008 Jewel x Der Graf DAM OF THE HIGH SCORING COLT IN THE NATION, 2004...! Jewel is a black 16 hand main mare book RPSI mare by Meisterwind (Donauwind x Mahagoni) out of True Reception xx. This mare is one of my best movers -- she has incredible loft and suspension. Her conformation is substantial and correct, and as a bonus, she is a true black. Her June, 2004 colt by Der Graf, Der Maestro, scored an impressive 8.6 overall. She also produced an impressive-moving Silver Premium foal, Signet, at her first attempt. Jewel's Gold Premium 2005 filly by Der Graf, Decadence, though lost in a tragic accident in February of 2006, was lovely in form and spirit, a powerfully made and athletic filly, Jewel has had a superb foal from the cross with Le Mode -- Lapis Lazuli is a MOVER with an exquisite head! Also note that the exceptional 2003 colt Leopold, by Le Mode, out of Jewel's dam, Jade, was #2 in the nation by his keuring score and a simply awesome mover. Lapis Lazuli is a 3/4 brother. Jewel's Gold Premium 2007 colt by Der Graf, Don Quixote, looks to be a superstar in the making as well. He scored 8.2 overall for a high Gold premium. Watch for her 2008 foal by Der Graf -- full sibling to high scoring siblings Der Maestro and Don Quixote!

Summit 2008 Summit Peak x Der Graf Bloodlines Extraordinaire! Summit Peak is a performance proven RPSI mare by Galoubet (SF), leading sire of jumping horses in the world, out of Shirlee Steel (TB), the dam of many successful jumpers, including Encore, an internationally successful jumper and U.S.E.T. competitor. Summit Peak herself was a scopy jumper and superb athlete, as well as having produced the super talented young Grand Prix jumper mare Sympa, ridden by Daniel Geitner of Aiken, SC. Summit has also produced a licensed stallion and several top quality fillies (Ishmael, Noli Me Tangere, Robin, and Leda). Summit Peak finally had another colt in 2007 -- Darius looks to follow his famous sister Sympa's hoofprints into the jumper ring. The full sister to this coming foal, Summit's 2005 filly by Der Graf, Doubletake, looks to be another future champion for new owner Melissa Pawluck of B.C. Canada. Finally, we're pleased to announce we're keeping another of Summit's daughters for ourselves -- Daydream Believer was one of our top foals in 2004, scoring 8.6 in movement for a First Premium. Summit Peak is bred back to Der Graf for a 2008 foal.

Irish 2008 Irish Blumin x Der Graf Irish is a powerful and correctly made 16.2 hand TB mare, rated PREMIUM MARE at her RPSI inspection in the fall of 2005! This mare has three very good gaits, with an expressive, free-moving trot and a lovely big canter. The judge complimented her substance and size, and especially the quality of her gaits, despite her injury. Her April, 2005 colt by Der Graf -- Dublin -- is a beautiful black colt with super, big, suspended movement, and as a yearling won the 2006 Region IV USDF Breeders Series Champion Colt! Her April, 2006 filly, Limerick, by Le Mode, is a lovely girl and a beautiful mover as well. Irish's 2007 filly by Der Graf, Deriana, has a different look, but the same innate talent, as her big brother Dublin. Watch for the 2008 model, coming in June!

Chateau 2008 Chateau Queen x Le Mode Queen is a 16.2 hand States PREMIUM TB mare. This mare was number THREE in the country on the 2001 RPSI tour. The judges praised her movement -- Big, fluid, building from behind, light and floating.... and her conformation and substance is impressive as well. Most importantly, this TB mare is absolutely calm and willing, great to ride on the trails, with the kind of temperament we select for in our sporthorses. See her first foal, Masquerade, who is turning out to be a a rare gem of a talent under saddle. Die Finesse, her 2004 filly by Der Graf and full sibling to her coming 2005 foal, is elegant and growthy, and despite an injury, scored a high silver premium at her keuring. Queen's 2005 Gold Medal foal by Der Graf, Demetrius, is a lovely, powerfully-built yet elegant colt with lighter-than-air, floating movement. Queen's dark brown 2006 colt Mowgli, by the FEI dressage Trakehner stallion Meisterwind, is big, powerful and a pretty mover. We thought we'd try Le Mode for Queen's 2008 baby -- we think this foal will be exquisite, and talented too!

Nightshade 2008 Nightshade x Gleiniant Shane Nightshade is a 15.2 hand black mare book II RPSI mare by Meisterwind (by Donauwind) and out of Pine Song, a sport-horse QH mare with a long successful career in sport. Check out her impressive offspring (Magdalene, Peregrine, Kestrel, Izod, and Evensong, and Icelander)and you will see they are superlative. Nightshade's 2005 filly, Sentimental, by the fabulous H/J sire Just the Best, belongs to Rachel Howell of Virginia. As usual, she's a beauty, and always in your pocket! Due to an injury, she has joined our broodmare band. Her high Silver Premium winning first foal, Le Bon Chance, by Le Mode, is gorgeous to look at, a super mover, and a real sweetheart too. We are excited to have this well-bred young mare in our herd. Robin's 2005 Le Mode foal, La Mirabelle, sustained an injury and will not be offered for sale. Robin's very special 2007 Der Graf colt Dali surprised us with his flashy sabino markings! He's a fantastic mover with a fantastic, mellow disposition. Robin is taking the year off, but we can't wait to repeat the cross with Der Graf in 2008!

Her first foal couldn't be any better -- Champion of her keuring with a stunning 8.5 overall, Firefly is by Smoke Tree Gold Fever, an exquisite young Welsh Section B palomino stallion standing at Wye Valley Farm. We've bred Motown to section A Welsh stallion Gleiniant Shane for another top-of-the-line pony hunter/sport prospect in 2008!

And now a little bit about the farm and my breeding policies. I believe that quality foals become successful performers. It starts with choosing the right stallion for each mare, and providing the best in love, care and training for the resulting foals. All of our young horses are handled from birth and started in ground work using the principles of classical dressage. But they are also allowed the chance to be horses - to run and play and graze out in the hilly pastures of western South Dakota. Here they grow up strong and sound, both in body and mind.

Our hay and grain are all grown locally, and are of the highest quality, so that our young horses receive a balanced diet, with adequate protein and carbohydrates for optimal growth, and the correct proportions of vitamins and minerals necessary to grow strong, sound bones and feet. If you are interested, we can arrange reasonable boarding and training packages as well. Your new young horse can grow up the way horses were meant to, with room to run and graze, as well as time spent in the barn, learning to cooperate and to enjoy the training process.

My mares are sound and performance proven, most with show records in dressage, jumpers or eventing. I have chosen my brood mares based on their conformation, temperament, movement and soundness. I examine pedigrees, performance records and phenotypes in selecting stallions for these mares. Our stallions were chosen carefully as ideal sires for North America, and for our mare herd. Our resulting foals have been quite outstanding, combining many of the best attributes of mare and stallion. My young horses are fully approved and branded by the Rheinland Pfalz-Saar registry and sell with German papers. The best in Zweibrucken, Trakehner, Thoroughbred, Holsteiner, Hannoverian, Oldenburg and Selle Francais lines are represented in my young stock. I welcome you to browse through some photos of my young stock, brood mares and the stallions I've chosen for them in the past few years. See if you agree!
