Ishmael is by the imported pinto jumper stallion Rainbow (Oldbg) , out of Summit Peak, who is by Galoubet (SF), the number one sire of jumping horses in the world, out of Shirlee Steel (TB), the dam of many successful jumpers, including Encore, successful internationally as a member of the U.S.E.T. Ishmael shows impressive athletic ability, with a big, balanced, uphill canter. His jump is always round, careful and scopy, with picture-perfect hunter form.

Ishmael excelled at his first shows as a four year old, placing first or second every time out in Open Novice division eventing. His natural athletic ability and mellow temperament combine to give him a winning edge -- and the judges don't forget him! He placed fourth out of 24 seasoned competitors in the 2000 regional Open Novice Eventing championships. In 2002 Ishmael debuted in the dressage ring at First and Second Level under Craig Heckert of Hill City, South Dakota. Craig and Ishmael scored 61 to 65 percent at their first recognized show. Judge Debbie Rodriguez scored Ishmael eights on his gaits, and commented on his special talent and potential for dressage. Ishmael is really fun to show, especially if you like to win!.
