Peregrine, aka "Round Midnight"
2000 branded Rheinland Pfalz-Saar gelding.
We knew him as Peregrine (Pennant x Nightshade), but his new owner Rachel Howell of Clifton, VA competes
him as 'Round Midnight. Peregrine is a character in the barn and a star at the shows...Peregrine has proven
his versitility with success in the pre-greens (winning 8 pre-greens under saddle with limited showing!) this year and many tri-colors in the
side saddle division, including earning reserve champion at the prestiguous Upperville and champion at the Warrenton Horse Show.
He ribboned at Harrisburg, and was one of eight who qualified due to his national ranking to compete at the Washington International
Horse Show (we can't wait for results). When not competing, Peregrine is quiet enough to use for beginner lessons and serve as a lead line mount,
and his confidence and reliability on trails have made several suggest he'd also be a force to be reckoned with eventing.
His owner loves him so much, she returned to Solomon Farm and purchased Peregrine's half sister Sentimental and another young prospect
Ilena (now known as Soiree)!
While he was with us, Peregrine earned a few honors too... champion two-year-old colt
and Reserve Champion young horse at the Mason City, IA Breeders Championship series in-hand show June 28-29,2002, AND GRAND CHAMPION
young horse at the SDSF Breeders Championship series in-hand show July 31st at Huron, SD! As a foal, he was number two in the nation on the 2000 Rheinland Pfalz-Saar
tour -- and it's not hard to see why.
